The impact of the Trump administration on immigration
This chapter explores the impact on migration of the presidency of Donald J. Trump in the United States of America. This chapter also discusses the politics and attitudes about immigration that led to his election. Our empirical analyses show that Hispanics and recent Muslim migrants will be partly replaced by graduate students and high-skilled workers. We also see that America is becoming more hostile to Islam, and there is a general feeling among the citizens that Islam is not conducive to democracy. The curb on the H-1B visa program is also discussed, and the near-term future of the Indian IT industry is explored.
