ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the elements of social movements in a case study of PlantPure initiatives with the leadership of health and environmental advocate Nelson Campbell. This analysis includes consideration of the roles played by interconnected organizations and networks designed to advance public health through plant-based living. The evidence emerging from these collaborative efforts indicate they are extending the reach of and interest in plant-based diets. This research illuminates diverse approaches employed to advance sustainability and succulence while also fostering individual efficacy and community strength. The strategy of concurrently promoting the health of citizens and the planet may be a mobilizing force.
