ABSTRACT

This chapter describes some of the most important recent changes for the Toolbox Dialogue Initiative (TDI) along with a number of future directions. The first section details some of the technological advances that have helped TDI grow into the digital age. This section will help interdisciplinary teams consider the sorts of technological readiness they need for collaborative success. The second section details some of the ways that TDI has been used in longitudinal settings. This includes a discussion of extensive work done with stakeholders outside of academic settings, and it also details the variety of work that TDI now does outside of the traditional workshop setting. The final section presents ongoing and future research and engagement with teams by TDI. The discussion here addresses ways in which the Toolbox approach can benefit the international development sector, the nature of cross-disciplinary integration, and guidelines for research teams and funders to assess cross-disciplinarity.
