ABSTRACT

An Image processing based Embedded system is proposed to detect the stages of cancer cells using segmentation algorithm. The proposed system uses K-Nearest Neighbor matching algorithm to detect the stages of the cancer cell. The segmentation algorithm helps in knowing the precise size and shape of the cancer cell and area of infection. The algorithm is implemented in ARM Cortex A-53 processor. The performance of the proposed technique has been analyzed in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and execution time. Packed cell volume and tissue density are calculated to find the extent of growth of cancer cells. Experimental results indicate that very good sensitivity and specificity is obtained and the execution time of the algorithms implemented in ARM processor is much lesser compared to the results obtained using MATLAB software.
