ABSTRACT
Most especially I want, in this present chapter, to ask about the future challenges that such progress might pose to the human species; whether that human occupies the roles of user, operator, customer, maintainer, passenger, or mere bystander. Most specifically, does the coming tide of autonomous systems represent an existential threat to the human species that is developing them?
