ABSTRACT
This chapter is a reminder that the arts and cultural diplomacy are neglected aspects of public diplomacy. Written by a former Department of State foreign service officer with over 20 years’ experience representing the United States officially overseas, Brown is knowledgeable about the value of arts diplomacy. Many other countries include it in their toolkit of public diplomacy, but the United States continues the neglect.
