ABSTRACT

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a machine-to-machine technology empowered by secure network connectivity and cloud infrastructure to reliably transform data into useful information for people, business, and institutions. The IoT is based upon known technologies like sensors, networking, and cloud computing, but its capability of transformation is incredible. The security goals of IoT are to provide confidentiality regarding the data and ensure proper identity authentication mechanisms. As IoT is basically implemented on the Internet, it uses network IP security (IPsec) provided by network layer. IoT includes a variety of hybrid devices that are connected on the same network but may not have the same role and specifications. Security issues in the application layer can cause applications to shut down and work inappropriately. IoT applications usually use low-power radios to connect device located at the end.
