ABSTRACT

The public and the private become mixed thanks to virtual reality, advances in reproductive technology have shifted the erotic dimension towards the reproductive urge, and family models are different from what was the "modern" model. Stereotypes of the model family are being increasingly questioned with the idea of an entity in movement and transition gaining ground all the time. The new Civil Code in Argentina establishes guidelines in terms of kinship in those cases where assisted fertilisation has been carried out, determining that the parents of the children born this way shall be deemed as those who have shown the procreational urge over and above the origin of the genetic material. More over, a law will be enacted to specifically regulate what happens to frozen embryos. Both the human factor and psychic integrity take on an importance in terms of relevance in the exercising of healthy parenting, irrelevant of the gender of the couple.
