ABSTRACT

Skyper an acronym for Sky peer-to-peer was the original name given to new software designed to make free phone calls possible on the internet in 2003. Depending on the different types of computers being used, several essential preliminary actions have to be made before contact can be established via Skype. Instructions have to be followed and this task remains in the foreground of the analyst's attention until it becomes automatic. By eliminating the geographical distances created by locations spaced far apart, Skype can remove barriers to analysis for analysands who live in remote areas without access to analytic centres. Skype, a representative of a man-made digital world that is based on the number line between 0 and 1, is programmed to decide automatically between right and wrong. Psychoanalysis addresses ambivalence and the constant inner conflict between right and wrong. Unlike analysis, Skype guarantees a special identity for eternity.
