ABSTRACT
Tom died three months after his third birthday. His death was expected. Kathie Waters, a senior infant mental health clinician and I, in my role as infant psychiatrist, worked together with Tom and his family in the final months of Tom’s life. Our work was part of a community based mental health programme for children under five and their families.
