ABSTRACT

Members of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Society, Ladies and Gentlemen: We all know of the death of Franz Alexander more than two weeks ago, and we have been able to think about and adjust to the passing of this strong figure who occupied a position of pre-eminence in our field for so long a time. It is fitting that colleagues whose knowledge of Franz Alexander is based on decades of friendship and collaboration should talk to us about him today: Tom French and Helen McLean will speak to us about his work and about his life and personality.
