ABSTRACT

The chapter discusses how invisible norms about heterosexuality permeate society and the workplace, and what consequences people face who challenge or do not comply with these norms. The chapter further explains how one can evaluate, challenge, and change norms at the workplace in an effort to include others, and not to exclude them. Terms such as LGBTQ, queer, trans, cis are examined and defined so that they can be properly used to challenge hetero-norms.
