Bringing universalized ethical approach to the area of pilot selection, the more rigid rule-based approach where there is a precise defined process that becomes potentially fixated and stuck, the shallower vision of decision-making can lead to substantial harm. One of the key ethical aspects in the psychometric and psychological assessment for pilot selection is to ensure fair and just treatment for the person undergoing the selection process, while properly weighing up the responsibilities and pressures that that he or she will be able to realistically manage.
