ABSTRACT

The development of Global Vertical Reference Frame (GVRF) based on a W 0 value is an actual topic to be solved by the IAG (International Association of Geodesy). In the past was developed methodology for determining the vertical shift of Local Vertical Datums over areas covered by GNSS/levelling sites. This methodology was applied to the Kronstadt Height Datum (KHD) on the territory of the Czech and Slovak Republics. Using the gravity field models EGM2008 and EIGEN-6C4 and the four primary constants ( GM - geocentric gravitational constants, (ω- nominal value of the angular velocity of the Earth’s rotation, J 2 - the second zonal Stokes geopotential harmonic coefficient , W 0 - geoidal potential), the vertical shift of KHD to actual geopotential value W 0 = 62 636 856.0 m2 s−2 and 62 636 854.0 m2 s−2 has been determined—range from -2.2 cm to +1.5 cm, resp. -23.0 cm up to -19.3 cm for first, respectively second value W 0 .
