ABSTRACT

A 2-year-old girl is brought in for evaluation for a cough for the past week. She has had fever to 38–39°C and only fair oral intake for the past 3 days. Her immunizations are up to date and she does not have a significant past medical history and has no known drug allergies. On physical examination she has a respiratory rate of 30 with an oxygen saturation of 97% on room air. Crackles are heard in the left side. The chest radiograph shows focal opacities in left lower lobe.
