ABSTRACT
A 16-year-old female with no significant past medical history presents to the emergency department (ED) after being struck by a car. The patient was struck on her right side and knocked to the ground, striking her left parietal scalp. She had no loss of consciousness. A cervical collar and backboard were applied by emergency personnel on scene. On arrival to the ED, she is awake, alert, and in no significant discomfort.
