ABSTRACT

A 21-month-old presents to the pediatric emergency department with a blistering rash to the buttocks. Her mother noticed the rash upon arrival home from work. The child was in his grandparents care today in their home as per routine childcare arrangement, and they report no vomiting, fevers, or history of sitting in or spilling hot liquid. He does have diarrhea and has pain when sitting on his buttocks.
