ABSTRACT

I TRANSTHORACIC EXPOSURE Access to the anterior thoracic spine is achieved through a transthoracic exposure (Table 1). The limits of the exposure include the second thoracic vertebra through the twelfth thoracic vertebra, depending on the placement of the incision and the level of the diaphragm. Exposure and intervention to the anterior thoracic spine is undertaken through the pleural cavity.
