ABSTRACT

The advancement of digital photography and computer imaging has opened the door for creative new methods to document, display, and distribute the results of liposuction surgeries. Traditional photography that uses film has slowly been replaced by more flexible and easier digital solutions. Digital imaging allows the photographer to immediately view and evaluate photos, print as many copies as needed, and create interactive computer presentations. This chapter includes information on basic computer imaging principles, equipment commonly used, and an example on how to create a three dimensional (3D) representation of a liposuction patient that allows for the results to be seen from any desired viewpoint.
