ABSTRACT

Tape stripping is a technique that has been found useful in dermato-pharmacological research for selectively and, at times, exhaustively removing the skin’s outermost layer, the stratum corneum. Typically, an adhesive tape is pressed onto the test site of the skin and is subsequently abruptly removed. The application and removal procedure may be repeated 10 to more than 100 times (1,2).
