ABSTRACT
The crystal form of a compound gives rise to both physical and chemical properties that are unique to that crystal form. The physical properties are crystal habit, melting point, solubility, rate of desolvation, color, and mechanical properties. The chemical stability of a compound is a function of its crystal form. The understanding of these properties is important in the development of a compound for use in a wide range of applications.
