ABSTRACT

Although, the current treatment of sarcoidosis is discussed elsewhere in this

book, during the last few years, new treatments for sarcoidosis have been introduced (1-3). Many of these newer agents were studied in sarcoidosis

because of their benefits reported in other chronic inflammatory diseases.

The general class of these agents has been called immune-mediated inflam-

matory drugs (4). This classification will be useful for clinicians as they

evaluate these agents (5).
