ABSTRACT

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been another tool used to examine the upper respiratory tract. Malhotra et al. (37) studied the SVT of normal male and female humans using MRI. They defined the pharyngeal length and the distance from the hard palate to the base of the epiglottis. The study concluded that the average pharyngeal length was approximately 76mm in men and 58mm in women.
