ABSTRACT
A preoperative analysis for hypopharyngeal collapse, usually with fiberoptic nasopharyngoscopy with the Mu¨ller maneuver and a lateral cephalometric radiograph, is essential to determine if lateral pharyngeal collapse exists and if hyoid myotomy and suspension is warranted.
