ABSTRACT
Schistosomiasis, also named bilharziasis, is one of the most prevalent
infectious diseases in the world. It is endemic in more than 70 countries, mainly in the less developed countries, and is estimated to place about
20% of the endemic population at risk. Thus, the number of people affected are estimated to be 200 millions (1).
