ABSTRACT
Modeling and simulation provide tools that are being widely used to support system concept development and evaluation, engineering design, training, operations concept and procedure development, and system test and evaluation. This section will discuss some special classes of models and simulations that are particularly applicable to largescale system design, such as military system development and military or civilian air traffic control. How human performance models play a role in these kinds of simulations is of particular interest.
