ABSTRACT
The blood clearance kinetics and tissue biodistribution of liposome-based agents after administration into the body can be determined noninvasively using scintigraphic imaging. With this imaging modality, liposomes labeled with gamma (photon)-emitting radionuclides can be monitored in vivo. More information concerning techniques for radiolabeling liposomes with gamma-emitting radionuclides can be found in Volume II, Chapter 9 of this book series.
