ABSTRACT
The article presents a brief overview of solar technologies commonly used in household applications. In particular, their impact on reducing household bills as well as their economic profitability was included. What was also considered, is influence on the environment of to-be installed systems. Due to low efficiency of currently used solar cells, research on improving them is leaded. New solar technologies that could be used in households in the future as solar energy storage, solar cells made of perovskites or multi-junction cells, were also presented.
