The application of MPC to improve the efficiency of an AC electric drive vector control
The article discusses the electric motor control system using the MPC speed controller. A model of the asynchronous electric motor is shown; a number of assumptions are made to simplify the model. A brief description of a fuzzy PID controller is given. The principle of operation and the block diagram of the MPC controller are considered. The simulation modeling of the electric drive vector control system in the “MatLab” environment was carried out. The modeling results are given. The results prove that the control system with an MPC controller provides better transient characteristics compared to a fuzzy PID controller.
