ABSTRACT

The aim of the study was to analyze the relationships between the authentic leadership style and worker innovativeness and wellbeing. A survey study was conducted in a group of 270 employees working in professional services sector enterprises. The Authentic Leadership Questionnaire was used to study leadership styles. Climate for creativity was measured using the Workplace Creative Climate Questionnaire. The Innovative Output scale was used to measure the worker innovativeness, and work engagement was measured with UWES questionnaire items. Intent to quit was assessed with a single item, and work-related stress was investigated with the single item from the Occupational Stress Questionnaire. A three-mediator regression analysis has shown that authentic leadership is significantly associated with worker innovativeness, work engagement, sickness absence and intent to quit, and some of these relationships are partly mediated by selected aspects of climate for creativity.
