ABSTRACT

The development of care dependency scale in Indonesian older adults who live in the community is a necessary precursor for their independent living improvement. However, existing tools to measure care dependency in older adults are mostly intended for implementation in hospitals or institutional setting. A new, care dependency survey was developed for use in community setting. This survey was tested for content validity utilizing a panel of five experts. It had interrater agreement (IR) of 0.75 and a content validity index (CVI) of 0.87. The content validity analysis served as a useful tool for assessing the relevance and comprehensiveness of this survey of older adult’s care dependency who live in the community.
