ABSTRACT

The growing problem of the effects of occupational exposure to reprotoxic substances and endocrine disruptors needs particular attention from both employers and employees. Therefore, this chapter discusses the effects of chemical substances toxic for particular stages of reproduction, as well as the classification and impact of reprotoxic substances and endocrine disruptors, which apart from influencing the functioning of the reproductive tract and reproductive processes can also lead to disorders in other organs and cause diseases not related to reproduction. In this chapter, the effects of exposure (including combined exposure) to such substances are discussed. This chapter also examines the legal side of the issue and indicates the necessity to take measures to intensify and further detail epidemiological and toxicological studies to focus on the problems as well as the intensification of legislative and organizational activities to ensure the reproductive health and hormonal balance of workers and the health of their future generations.
