ABSTRACT
This chapter systematically summarizes the industrial development of China’s animation films in 2017, and offers an all-round analysis of the records, production and box office situation. In 2017, the box office of China’s animation films declined, due to a lack of ground-breaking movies. However, the box office still achieved good results, which showed the expectation and confidence of Chinese audiences in Chinese animation films. In 2017, the total investment and financing for the animation film sector continued to rise, and the overall investment by the Internet giants showed their determination and confidence in this sector.
