ABSTRACT
On August 15, 2018, a film with a budget of only US$30 million, Crazy Rich Asians was released in North America, and won great success at the box office and received high acclaim from the public and film critics. How the “all Asian cast & crew” film got into the summer movie season was a question worth discussing. Crazy Rich Asians also shows the Asian filmmakers’ journey in Hollywood and the development of Asian Hollywood movies.
