ABSTRACT

The past historic monuments, arts, architecture, literature, sculptures depicts the growth of civilization and becomes a valuable resources representing the country culture. Every nation is pride of their cultural heritage. The developments evolved in the long years has resulted in the loss of cultural heritage values which was destroyed, broken or stolen. Nations Culture and Heritage has to be passed to the coming generations to make them understand the values of the heritage objects and sites. Digitization of cultural heritage using the web technology will help to pass the pride and values of cultural heritage. In this paper a semantic web framework is designed to integrate the cultural heritage components of a temple for enabling e-walkthrough to reach large number of users through Linked Data. The framework is designed to represent the PerurPatteswarar temple a heritage site of Coimbatore, Tamilnadu of 12th century. The conceptual rendering of the proposed work is created using ontology and rendered as RDF triple store and viewed through ainteractive web user interface accessible through SPARQL endpoints.
