ABSTRACT

This research paper discusses on the details about relative analysis for Switched Reluctance motor as well as Brushless DC motor and their capabilities to be used in electric vehicle system. In the recent scenario, environment pollution is getting increased due to the use of conventional vehicles. That is why; to reduce the pollution electric vehicles is a greatly beneficial option. Currently use of the higher power density magnetic motors with high torque and less cost such as BLDC motor and the PMSM-permanent magnet synchronous motors had become primary preferred choice for electric vehicles. But in the coming future, the PMSM - Permanent Magnet motors will going to get replaced by SRM - Switched Reluctance Motor for the applications of electric vehicle, because of absence of Permanent Magnet on rotor of SRM and higher torque with respect to the power ratio, lower acoustic noise and lower losses as compared to PMSM - Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and BLDC motors. The primary emphasis of this paper is mainly the properties of special kind of electric motors(EVs) e.g. power density control, performance analysis, torque efficiency, cost and comparing all these results of SRM and BLDC with respect to their Electric Vehicle applications.
