ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the perspectives on the use of big data as evidence in the management of the knowledge necessary to improve business processes. The attention is initially focused on the challenges within the area of knowledge management that the organizations face during the era of big data and AI Analytics. It is followed by the presentation of the approach toward knowledge management in the context of big data. Inclusion of the evidence-based management approach in the considerations of big data and knowledge management seems to be a challenge for further research. To illustrate the presented theoretical solutions and emerging technological possibilities of improving knowledge management, the authors outline a conception of the acquisition and utilization of big data to improve knowledge management in the process of student onboarding. The outlined idea of the use of serious play in the student onboarding process demonstrates the practical manner in which the evidence-based management ideas can be realized in both knowledge management and the management of the realized business processes. Their analysis may lead to the improvement of knowledge management for students as well as the development of university management.
