ABSTRACT
There can be little doubt that most of the terrorist activity that has taken place during the past decade has occurred in urban areas. The Tupamaros, the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Irish Republican Army, the Weather Underground, and numerous other groups have achieved their reputations by virtue of actions undertaken in areas of large, concentrated populations.
