ABSTRACT

Measurements such as height and weight are collected over a long period of time on an individual to study growth patterns. In general it might not always be possible to take the measurements at preassigned times and the times of observation may not be equally spaced. Suppose measurements such as height and weight are collected longitudinally on an individual. In general, it is difficult to obtain the measurements at preassigned times of observation, for instance, due to the nonavailability of the subject itself. The times elapsed between different times of observations might not be equal. The weight function λ is to be replaced by an appropriate measure on the space of values of t.
