ABSTRACT
The pH of the culture medium represents a major operational parameter in mammalian cell cultures. The rates of cellular growth and metabolism and of protein synthesis are strongly dependent on the medium pH which, thus, must be strictly controlled for efficient production processes of cells, viruses, or proteins.
