ABSTRACT

Consider a multiresponse experiment with r(≥1) response variables and k(≥1) explanatory variables, coded as x 1,…, xk . The objectives of the experiment are as follows.

Find the optimum settings for x 1 … xk so that the first q(0 ≤ q ≤ r) responses are as close to their maximum values as possible and the remaining (r − q) responses are as close to their minimum values as possible.

For r = 1, find the optimum settings for x 1…, xk so that the response is maximum/minimum.

Assess the influence of observations on the optimum settings for x 1…, xk and their corresponding fitted response values.

162For r > 1, order the response variables in terms of the fitted response values at their individual optimum settings.
