ABSTRACT

Health physicists, particularly directors of health physics, are likely to find themselves in court sometime during their careers. This may be as the result of a tort suit or as the result of a Worker’s Compensation claim. The health physicist may be called as a fact witness to identify dosimetry records and establish the dose received by the plaintiff or as an expert witness to give an opinion as to the dose which was received by the plaintiff. In either case, this chapter offers some suggestions as to how a health physicist could prepare for this new experience.
