ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an interview of Albert Ellis, who is the executive director of the Institute for Rational-Emotive Therapy, New York City. He is founder of rational-emotive therapy and grandfather of cognitive-behaviour therapy. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, American Sociological Association, and American Anthropological Association, etc. He has been president of the Division of Consulting Psychology of the American Psychological Association, president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex, vice-president of the American Academy of Psychotherapists, and a member of the board of executives or executive council of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Marital and Family Therapy. Albert’s main interests in psychotherapy and sex, love and marital relations, including relationships between therapists and their clients, form the theme for the interview.
