ABSTRACT
The term shī‘ah is not an invented or a new one. It has been mentioned in the Qur’ān in four places. Two of them (28: 15; 37: 83) are:
so he found therein two men fighting, one being of his party [shī‘ah] and the other of his foes, and he who was of his party cried out to him for help against him who was of his enemies.
of his persuasion verily was Abraham.
