ABSTRACT
Sibling relationships have been marked by jealousy since the dawn of our species. Biblical authors documented its existence in Genesis with two legendary accounts of jealousy between siblings. The first concerned that of Cain, the firstborn son of Adam and Eve after their expulsion from Eden, and his next-born brother, Abel. The theme of sibling relations returned later in Genesis with the story of Joseph and his brothers.
