ABSTRACT

The philosophers of the eighteenth century had to be critics, since the first thing to be done was to show the disadvantages of a system formed in an age of superstition and barbarity. But that this system has been completely eradicated by them, it is clear that the task of their successors is to produce and discuss the political system appropriate to the present level of enlightenment. The project he has conceived involves forming a scientific society divided into four classes, and sharing all the work to be done between these four classes in such a way that each one can act independently of all the others. The special object of L’Organisateur will be — to establish the principles on which the new political system must be based; to present the plan of organisation to a scientific workshop capable of establishing a social doctrine proportionate to the level of enlightenment.
