ABSTRACT

This paper presents an improved method for the conventional method of the ultasonics using a discriminatary analysis method of statistics. A discriminatory function and an evaluation criterion were obtained by use of the data of the ultrasonic testing of an imitation pored pile. The contributation coefficients of the two testing indexes (velocity and amplitude) to an evaluation result were also obtained. The function and the criterion can be taken as means of quantitative analysis in quality evaluation on the pored cast-in- situ piles. They can be constantly modified by the test data of piles and the actural flaw information of the piles obtained from the excavation of foundation. Thus, the evaluation reliability can be improved by the increasing of tested pile number. The procedures and the validity of the discriminatory analysis method are illustrated by an example with test data from a pored cast-in-situ concrete pile.
