ABSTRACT

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death among women in most developed countries’. The annual incidence of female breast cancer increased by approximately 52% during the second half of this century from 1950 to 1990 2 especially in the United States. The lifetime risk has also risen from an estimate of 1: 10 in the mid 1970s toi: 8 in the early 1990s. 3
