Junction Potentials at a Concrete/Electrolyte Interface

Examples are given of junction potentials in concrete. Diffusion, streaming and membrane potentials contribute to the variability and time dependency of surface potentials, but are difficult to calculate. A viscous contact electrolyte significantly changes the junction potential. The concept of a ‘true potential’ — so far a fata morgana — is introduced and discussed.
