ABSTRACT
This brief report provides a personal account of the events surrounding cross-cultural psychology’s early interest in research ethics. The subsequent formation of a committee and the publication of guidelines which became the focus of discussions within IACCP are related. Although the guidelines posed a number of questions and raised the consciousness of researchers, they were never adopted by the Association as an ethical code.
